Romans 14:23 (NIV)
.... and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
This scripture sometimes confuses people, 'anything not of faith is sin' (KJV). Every confusion ceases when we understand what 'sin' is.
Sin is an action, could be passive as well, when taken; causes a strain in relationship or separation from God.
If we insert it in this verse it reads thus:
"...and everything that does not come from faith will cause a strain or separation from God".
