You might wonder about the title of this post, I implore you to give me five minutes of your time.
A couple of months ago, I brought back my last two sons from school to discover that my first son who was supposed to be home was nowhere to be found. And naturally I was worried and concerned, so I called his phone and i heard it ringing in his room. Apparently, he had gone out without his phone this heightened my concern about his whereabouts as well as suspicious and apprehensive.
Long story short, he came back about an hour later and I decided not to open the door for him as punishment for ‘disappearing’ without informing anyone. After a while, I let him in and confronted him. He explained he had to go back to school for an after school class and he reiterated that he informed me of the class earlier in the day.
Oh no! I meted out an undeserved punishment on him.
Here’s the reason why I told the story.
While he was outside, he kept called out severally to his immediate younger brother to open the door for him. When he didn’t, as I instructed him not too, he went to the back garden and threw over his brother’s football across the fence into the road in retaliation.
Some days later when i noticed that the ball was missing, I asked him about it, he confessed to have thrown it away as revenge on his brother for his refusal to open the door for him when he was locked outside.
Can you guess what happened next? Your guess is as good as mine.
I made sure he didn’t go scot free for being vengeful and that I won’t tolerate such behaviour and I recompensed his brother with a couple of balls later on.
Guess what?
The victim, my second son, out sourced revenge to me without even knowing it because I took charge of the situation and executed vengeance on his behalf. He lost a ball and he has gotten three since then. The first son has had a lot of his requests turned down because of his revenge (misplaced aggression) on his brother.
Revenge is vengeance in action.
God asked us not to seek revenge or retaliate for things done to us, because He has a trademark, copyright or patent on vengeance and you shouldn’t use it because you won’t get the rights to it.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. - Romans 12:19 (KJV)
In other words, we shouldn’t act on the feeling of hurt and the desire to make the person that hurt us feel same or worse. Jesus recommends that we shouldn’t as well in a thesis in Matthew 5:38-48 but I want to point out one verse where He recommends love in place of revenge:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; - Matthew 5:44 (KJV)

Outsourcing
If you have ever opened a laptop or computer before, you will discover that the parts and components inside; bear the names of different technology companies separate from the brand name of the computer. A computer hardware company like HP, sources these components from other manufacturers, puts them together, brands it with their name. When you buy a laptop, you probably bought an Intel Processor & Chipset, Fujistu or MSI Motherboard, Seagate or Toshiba Hard Drive, LG RAID Card, DDR RAM, Nvidia Video Card etc.
This gets interesting. Do you know that all computer manufacturers except for Apple run on an OS (operating system) they don’t produce? The most common OS is Windows by Microsoft.
You can say that this computer companies outsourced the most important component of their product, which is the OS, to another company who specialises in software coding.
Why is this so?
There are some activities, if the organisation take up, will distract them from their core competence. They identify a leader in that service/product industry and outsource that service or manufacturing of that product to them. There are many reasons for this such as:
Modern businesses strategically select functions and activities to outsource to skilled experts in that field for reasons such as - focus, risk management, lack of core competence and effective resource control etc.
But there are three major reasons, I’d like to draw your attention to:
Cost
Speed (competitive advantage)
Access to highly skilled personnel outside the company
Cost
One of the major advantages of outsourcing is cost management and reduction. Mostly, the cost on seeking revenge could be emotionally draining while the person you are trying to get back at is unaware of your strife. My second son in this case was totally unaware that his elder brother was being punished for his actions because nature usually takes care of issues such as this without your knowing if you let it.
From a business perspective, Acer, the Taiwan-based personal computer maker, has used capability sourcing to make itself into the world’s second-largest PC manufacturer. The Acer executives knew it was good at branding and marketing and chose to outsource everything company they had a harder time with, like manufacturing. The move led Acer to faster-growing sales and gains in market share. The company now maintains a strikingly lean and flexible operation. Its 6,800 employees represent a workforce less than a tenth the size of its largest competitor.
Biblically, David never sought revenge on Saul, despite having several opportunities to end him. God handled Saul at the right time and David ended up on the throne.
Speed
When you outsource your vengeance, you actually acquire speed in your life because seeking vengeance distracts you from the important things of life. King Saul is a good example, he couldn’t focus on leading the nation instead he was busy chasing David around the countryside.
My first son because of seeking vengeance lost a lot of things he would have gain from me. Here’s another example of a company has scaled up because of outsourcing.
Founded by two former Yahoo! employees, Brian Acton and Jan Koum, WhatsApp is today’s take on SMS: encrypted communication, group messages, file sharing and, recently, even calls. This startup who launched in 2009, and eventually got acquired by Facebook in 2013 for $19.3+ billion, has never denied taking advantage of outsourced developers.
They the core development was outsourced in Russia, starting with a contractor iPhone developer named Igor Solomennikov who joined the company eventually as CIO.
Skilled Personnel
When it comes to getting justice for wrong done to you, no one is more skilled than God. He is the ’Most Highly’ skilled personnel in any case just allow Him to handle render due justice to your enemies. He will handle the case and the people better than you will ever can.
On the business angle, Alibaba is China’s eBay but few know that it started as a small “internet company” called China Yellow Pages. Today Alibaba is the world’s biggest global marketplace, one that in 2014 when it went public, was able to score one of the biggest IPO to date.
But what does outsourcing have to do with? Well, according to the book "Alibaba: The Inside Story Behind Jack Ma and the Creation of the World's Biggest Online Marketplace", in its early days, the founder Jack Ma outsourced the website development to a U.S. firm. At the time, development talent in China was in short supply, while developers in U.S. had the skills Alibaba was looking for and needed.

When tempted to seek revenge, remember:
God forbids it
It only satisfies your selfish desires.
Good can never come from evil.
Remember you are not perfect and the number of people you have wronged in the past.
Outsource it to God but showing Love.
God is skilled at vengeance and He will do a better job than you can ever.
Remember the Day of the Lord: 2 Thessalonians 1:5-8
How to Activate Vengeance
How you activate God’s vengeance on anyone that has done something to hurt or harm you is to show love. Pay the person back with good, I have seen this happen in my life severally. Am not proud of this, but I need to mention this as part of the lesson. I have seen people that wronged me, did evil against me; receive the full weight of God’s vengeance meted on them. In my career, I have seen people get sacked for telling lies against me. In other areas, I’ve seen others suffer severe consequences I’ve even seen men’s lives given in exchange for mine.
The first key that triggers the vengeance of the Lord is becoming His child, the next key is show the evil doers love.
The antidote to evil done to you is LOVE - Chukwudum Obi
Paul puts it clearly in Romans 12:19-21 (KJV)
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
